Our Story
Founded in 2016, MakeMyHouseGreen emerged from a simple observation: making homes greener shouldn't be hard.
Our co-founders, Llewellyn Kinch and Thomas Rogers, met at Newton Europe, a data-driven operational consultancy where they worked together on complex problems. They spotted a gap: while people wanted renewable energy for their homes, the process was fragmented, opaque, and demanding. One customer put it best: "If I want to find the right solution for me, I need to take a week off work and put 30+ hours into it!"
We set out to fix that. Using data, technology, and transparency, we built a platform and team dedicated to making solar, battery storage, and EV charging simple, fair, and accessible to everyone.
Leadership
Llewellyn Kinch – CEO & Co-founder
Cambridge graduate (Materials Science) with over a decade of experience in energy and operations. Before founding MakeMyHouseGreen, Llewellyn worked as a consultant at Newton Europe, solving complex operational challenges. His technical background and passion for renewable energy drive our commitment to quality and accuracy.
Thomas Rogers – CTO & Co-founder
Durham University graduate (Economics) with over seven years leading energy technology businesses. Thomas led the development of our advanced modelling platform that powers our solar design tool. His technical expertise ensures every recommendation is backed by rigorous data and analysis.

The first thing people ask me when I tell them about my solar panels is "how long before it's paid for itself", but they never ask that when you fit a new combi-boiler or buy a washing machine. I went into this not as an investment, but as a way to give less money to the Electric Companies and to be more environmentally friendly. I've had my system for just under a year and they’re generated a total of 3022KwH, my usage for the year is 3009KwH! My monthly average bill should have been £85, but with solar and factoring in export payments, it averages out at £25 a month (that includes the £15 a month standing charge!) I’m very happy with MakeMyHouseGreen and the complete service they provide from consultation to installation, and I’d definitely recommend them if you’re after an ‘all under one roof’ service.
